Sold My Petaquilla Shares…

  • Sharebar

Last week I sent out a brief update to my newsletter subscribers that I sold all of my Petaquilla Minerals (PTQ, PTQMF) shares. Make no mistake, I believe Petaquilla still has enormous upside potential. However, the rapidly changing political situation in Panama is both alarming and potentially dangerous for investors. I have made a considerable amount of money already off of my Petaquilla investment and did not want to give it back because of the growing anti-mining sentiment there. I rather take my profit off the table and put my money to work in numerous other places before I watch it go up in smoke.

There is a thing I like to do at night called sleep. I never like to be invested in anything that causes me stake away night. Unfortunately, Petaquilla reached this point and I had to let them go. I don’t like too much uncertainty mixed in with my investments. The Panamanian government appeared to be very supportive of outside investment and mining. Then overnight, they just changed their mind and completely became anti-mining! I don’t need that kind of uncertainty. There are plenty of other quality junior mining companies to invest in.

It is possible that everything will be fine in time or the things will get worse from here. I really don’t know what will or won’t happen from here. I have not developed the ability to see around corners yet so, it made sense to pull my money out of Petaquilla/Panama. I have already deployed most of the funds to some other junior miners and am doing extremely well out the gate. I will send out a preview to my free newsletter subscribers hopefully this week.

Good luck to Petaquilla longs. Don’t get stampeded if people rush for the exits.

The panamanian goverment is very bullish on mining industry specially the petaquilla mining district where petaquila gold and minera panama(Inmets huge copper proyect). The panamanian goverment is only prohibiting mining in the comarca noble guble(Indian) reservations because of lack of political leadership in those regions which are still gover by there own sistem. If you would like to confirm this I can put you in contact with the minister of Commerce which is the goverment entity that promotes and regulates mining in Panama.

    Thanks
